Even with NO music, the story and characters are good enough to keep most fans interested. Ippo is still good,because the SOURCE material is still strong. Yeah, people just mindlessly accepting what's shoved infront of them is LAME,but jumping to conclusions and bashing something before you even give it a chance is equally ignorant. It's just digital is quicker and cheaper and the coloring is clearer so noone does handdrawn anymore. Hand drawn art looks BETTER than digital art. That doesn't mean digitization is the fix to everything, but if they have the budget, there simply are NO line problems to speak of (like with Casshern Sins, because they obviously pumped the budget to fix that kind of stuff). Lots of mid-budget shows or even oldschool ones like Gundam shows suffered from it all the time. And there's plenty of line blur in traditional cells as well. So digitization typically puts it in more of the league the director's thinking of. For one, colors sometimes are dulled because it's essentially an advanced form of photography. Traditional cells have their own problems and limitations. I don't think it looks definitely better. Studios switched to digital because it's easier to manage not because it looks better.Īnd ftr, I dont have a problem with the animation so far at all, but the older stuff was defintely better ,so far.

Berserk was supposdily the last anime series ever to use handdrawn art. It's VERY noticable the change in detail when you watch an anime from the early 90s compared to something made in the past 3 or 4 years. Handrawn DOES result in much more detail but a duller color pallete. That's different than handdrawn and it usually ends up with animators using thicker, less detailed lines. What do you mean? They're drawn from a tablet on a digital screen.
Part of the reason the first season didnt bore me with the fights is because they kept a VERY brisk pace instead of Dbzing it and stretchiiiiing every fight. Dont speak badly of my franchise or I will tell you to leave! Just swallow all the crap you get presented and be quiet, it's naruto/ippo! so it can't be bad. Reason why a show like Naruto is so popular is exactly that. Now I understand some people are more easily pleased but that doesn't give you the right to tell us we can't criticize what we're getting now instead of blindly accepting it and worshipping it like sheep. But that won't stop me from calling it for what it is in my eyes, mediocre at best so far.

Nothing new, happens all the time with director changes in movies, tv shows, etc. So far season 2 has shown me the directing and the music are taken it to a completely different direction, which will alienate a big group of people.īecause what people found special in the first series seems to have been turned into generic anime feel to it. Season 1 was outstanding too many cause everything fit and fell in place. You can name all kinds of reasons for the decline In production quality, that doesn't change the fact that it is. This is stuff that can be recycled or probably is recycled already for a number of shows. It's totally generic anime music, while in season 1 you had music that you wouldn't find in tons of other shows. The music is not bad, but it IS totally unfitting for this type of show. The intensity of the fights so far is not present at all.
But there's less detail to it and less effort, The gritty look is gone. Yeah it looks nice and clean, because it's HD. The art and animation is worse than it used to be eventhough it's completely digital. Just saying it's glorifying the past is too simple. You can put them side to side, and use arguments to say why you do or don't like the changes.
